Isn’t it time Nyishis got together, call off stir, ask the political leaders to be accountable not only to the community but what they have done for the welfare of the people in each constituency they represent. If I am a Nyishi, I would ensure that the majority community has the kind of representation it deserves, but I would not do anything that can help my opponent paint me in the picture that they would like me to be seen, least being prone to intimidation tactics because that would help others continue to deprive me of opportunities even in future. The current situation will not last forever. Nothing has. But if something should last for ever, it is a change that is required in the mindset of people about Nyishis. And that would not come by one person’s conduct or a group of people organising protest. Let’s all think rationally and bring about a change that we all long deserve. We all need development, opportunities and a dignified livelihood. God Bless!
