No…, don’t jump to any conclusion yet.
What do you do to satiate your hunger to keep abreast of latest happenings around the world? Read the paper, watch news channels or log on to the net-these are the obvious things you would do, right. But what if, you wanted to know about the latest happenings of the State Arunachal Pradesh? Grab The Arunachal Times or Echo of Arunachal or Dawnlit Post-all published from Itanagar, of course. But the matter of fact is that when there is ‘bandh‘ or some other transportation problem you wouldn’t get chance to lay your hands on the paper for quite a few days at stretch (the dailies being dispatched from Itanagar, reaches Ziro in the evening) and not to forget the peoples staying outside the state, who has altogether no access to the local dailies. And you can’t think of news channels, as all you get is news about metros. So, I wondered, if the State dailies has any online presence?
Surprise! Surprise! when I Googled the key word ” Arunachal Times” I got this (see the snap shot below)
“G-R-E-A-T”, I shouted, now people from this state studying or working outside the state would be able to keep abreast of the happenings of the state. But wait, to my horror when I clicked the link I got this (snapshot below) (what do you think about the sites look?) which has most of the link non-functional. May be the site is in developmental stage.

Getting online papers of the state sounds fascinating. Far flung and remoteness of towns of the state contributes largely to hinder wide circulations throughout Arunachal. Also, very true that the ‘Band’ culture in both arunachal and adjoining assam further distrupts the circulation of the prints. I think that online papers will get nationwide attention which in the long run improve the quality of the matter in the papers as almost all papers here play a more of passive role in bridging information with ideas and contribution as the rest of the country do.

Sub:- Risk of Fire Accident on Petrol Pump.
Sir,
Through the column of your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of concerned authority towards the risks of fire accident in petrol depot of our Pasighat town. Fire accident is a common occurrence in our town. Every year we see houses and shops set on fire. This is due to a little carelessness of Cigarette smokers who throw the burning ends of the cigarettes sticks carelessly or careless, use of Candle stick or Crackers etc. the most disgusting sight of all is the most irresponsible behaviour of some people throwing the burning end of cigarettes sticks near the petrol pump, when they come to fill their vehicles with fuel.
This may lead to a great fire accident because some petrol pumps are located right at the heart of market place.
The concerned authority should take stern steps towards such violation to avoid fore accident in the common interest of all.
well i think it would be nice if there was an option in .pdf so that we could keep loading news and save them for future reference too.
Well, if you are talking about “The Arunachal Times” then I’ve no clue but if it is about Arunachal Diary, then your point is taken. We would try to incorporate the option for letting the readers of AD to print or save the posts in pdf form, soon. Do watch out.
” Arunachal Times” can play a vital role in reminding the official web launchers to keep updating their sites regularly. Many official website has been launched and created in the interest of public service. But few had relevance and many are untracked and unnoticed. Day to day activities taken up by the departments/agencies can be viewed if updated regularly. So, please do something to help the common man to know the extent of activities moving in the fore of progress and development.
like advertisement given in your paper,i would request you to give the advertisement in your website also because sometimes we never get the paper at the right time,moreover we are very far away from the capital.
